Dr Cortes is a past president of the American Prosthodontic Society and currently serves on the American Prosthodontic Foundation Board of Directors. Dr. Cortes’ labor with this non-profit organization is 100% altruistic and focuses on Education, Research, Scholarships, and Outreach Programs to better serve our communities. 

Dr. Cortes graduated dental school in 2002 with the highest honor, first in his class, Suma Cum Laude. Dr. Cortes went on to specialize at the University of Rochester, Eastman Dental Center, in New York where he graduated from the Prosthodontics Residency Program in 2008. 

In 2009, he was awarded the “Graser Surgical-Implant Fellowship” at the Eastman Institute for oral health in Rochester, NY to continue his training in dental implant surgery. 

Dr. Cortes is passionate about teaching and sharing with his students at the University of Texas Health School of Dentistry in San Antonio, Texas where he has been teaching as a Clinical Assistant Professor for the las 15 years.
